Hello Crowchild Peewee Parents, as we get closer to the start of another hockey season at Crowchild, I wanted to introduce the coordinator group for the 2010/11 season. You’ll be seeing us around the rink during evaluations and throughout the season. If you need any information or would like to discuss issues that are on your mind, please feel free to approach any of us:

Just a few items to address prior to the start of evaluations this season:
1.
We’re looking for evaluation volunteers to assist with Peewee evaluations Sept 12 - 19. Peewee evaluations have changed from last season there will be no skills testing for all Senior Divisions (includes Peewee) instead there will be five (5) ice times of game play for each of the four colour groups, for a total commitment of 20 game plays. In addition we have condensed the schedule into 7 days to aid the evaluation and evaluator time commitment. As such your commitment for the full seven days would be greatly appreciated and would aid the consistency of the evaluation program. In order to evaluate for the 2010/2011 season, your attendance at our "Evaluator Orientation Session" is required. We would like all evaluators to attend, regardless of the number of sessions you have evaluated in the past. The session is only 1 to 1.5 hours on
Thursday, September 2 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm at Crowchild Twin Arena Upstairs Main (large) Meeting Room. Please see the link to the

Attached is the evaluator sign-up sheet. For those who can help with evaluations, including those who have already volunteered, please fill in the attached Excel Spreadsheet with your name, contact info and "Y" in the dates that you can evaluate, email the completed Spreadsheet back to myself Frank Kemeri

Sunday, September 5. Again, please be aware that we have condensed the schedule to 7 days to minimize evaluator time commitment and to aid the consistency of the evaluation program we ask that you evaluate all game play sessions to ensure data consistency.

Attached is an updated evaluation schedule. Please note that this schedule includes a couple of moves within colour groups. In order to balance the groups based on the latest registration numbers, we are moving two groups of players, those that played Peewee 5 and Atom 3 last season. Please check the groupings on the schedule to ensure correct ice times.
Helmet stickers will be distributed prior to the last hitting clinic session on Saturday, September 11, so please arrive a bit early in order to sign in. 4.
We are integrating body-checking clinics in to the start of evaluations this season. In previous seasons, these sessions have taken place in October. This change is intended to help the players during evaluations and throughout the rest of the season. These sessions are a required part of the process however; we WILL NOT BE SCORING OR EVALUATING the body checking sessions. These sessions are for all (first and second year) players so please take advantage of this opportunity to learn proper technique from National Sport Academy qualified instructors.
